Why do you rarely see people do these at the gym? Is it an effective exercise? I am doing the FT exercise routine and wanted to throw in another lower-body exercise on legs day.

I want to call it a pliates squat, where you place your fee greater than shoulder-length apart, toes angled outward as far as possible Then taking two dumbells and placing them on opposite shoulders and squatting...

Thanks guys for your input!

It is a great exercise! For me, I personally hate doing them, so maybe that's why you don't see anyone in the gym doing it! But I think they are effective seeing as I only did them for a short period of time! So I say "Go for it!" What's the worst it'll do?
