hey watsup everybody... i found this site a little while ago and started using some exercises i found on it and then i found these forums, and i need a little help.

k i'm pretty skinny, like 6'2 170 lbs, and i wanna bulk up, mainly my chest and arms. I've been benchpressing and curling weights for about 2 weeks now. I was just wondering if anybody that may have been in the same situation, could give me some good tips, advice or exercises.

Also, being skinny, what would be the best brand/type of powders or shakes for me to use?

thanks guys....any help is much appreciated

Start with compound exercises.

Squats, Deadlifts, pull ups and Bench Press.

Why hello billy_white and welcome. Your long term goal as you said is to bulk up your chest and your arms, therefore it would make since to you to only exercise your chest and arms, right?

Wrong, I have used this example before and I will use it again. Picture a balloon, this is what your body is like. You goal is to get the balloon bigger. If you only train 2 parts (chest and arms) out of 4 parts (your leaving out back and legs), then it's like blowing up a balloon while squeezing half of it. What will happen, the balloon will not get very big and it will pop (it will get to it's maximum size very quickly). Where if you train all parts of your body, it's like blowing up the balloon normally, and it gets 3 times the size as if you limit the training. What I am saying is your chest and arms will only get so big if you don't train your back and legs because all of your muscles are connected. Your body will only allow you to get so disproportionate. So I would reccomend exercising all parts of your body, starting at once a week for each body part, and move up to twice a week once your ready.

For diet, keep eating as much as you can but make sure you have a high protein diet, atleast 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound that you weigh.

Good supplements, I always recommend Phosphagen HP. I have tried probably 20+ supplements and this is the best one yet. Go on www.google.com and do a search for "Phosphagen HP review" and it will give you all the information you need.

alright thanks for all the helpguys...

but is it possible to exercise my back and legs with the equipment i have. All I have is a bench with the bar, and dumbells. Could freeweights be used just as easily as machines at the gym to do my legs/back? or should i jsut get a gym membership. If you know any good exercises that i could do with my existing equipment, please let me know...thanks again guys:)
