The good news is that a recent american study has shown that being overweight (body mass index of 25-29) is no longer associated with an increased chance of death, compared with those of normal weight.
They theorise that this is possibly due to improved treatment of complications (such as diabetes etc), but if you are making yourself miserable trying to lose those last few pounds, maybe you should stop, and concentrate on being fit and strong instead.
