I am not training for competition or muscle gain, but for toning and fat loss.

My question is when I don't have to have big muscle, do I still have to rest between training for same body parts?

I do weight training twice a week on whole body. But in between, I do circuit training without using weights. So I am working my whole body everyday. Is this good or bad for my purpose?

For someone new.....i'd say train 4 days a week, weight bearing that is........so if your doing weight training two days a week, do some circuits 3 other days......rest 2 days.

If yoru trying to "tone" I think you need to lift more....maybe 3 times a week....and seperate thebody parts......jmo

I think I am workout-holic. If I don't workout everyday, I feel like I'm getting fat. I've been going to gym almost everyday for about 3 years. My workout routine changed from time to time. I was more concentrating on cardio than weight training in the beginning. I still had flab and no tone. Now I do have muscle but my last 5-8% body fat is in the way to see them really good.

So, maybe toning was not a good word, losing the last few pounds of fat is my goal. I am watching how many calories I eat strickly now. I want to do everything right, at least for next 2 months. My boyfriend is coming back then, and I want to look better than when he left.

I workout in the morning, like 7. It wakes me up and gives me feel of well being. The days that I didn't work out, I felt really tired..... How about jogging a little for those rest days????

yumi u need to fill out ur profile.. without that nobody will be able to help u out.. we need to know what ur routine is.. what ur diet is.. how many days u go working out...

if u r working out everyday.. then u might be overtraining.. and THAT might be the problem u r unable to lose those last bits of FAT.. why?.. b'coz u r not giving ur body enough time to recover.. and fat reduction is done in kitchen..

u need to put ur diet here for the experts to look into it.. they might be able to give u suggestions about it...

hope i helped...

regardless of your schedule, you should at least have a day or two of rest, where you dont engage in any kind of heavy physical activity (ie running, weights, etc). You can workout all day long everyday, but you're never going to give your body a chance to repair itself, which is going to help you in the end.

I had the same mentality as you, but I learned to just let go, and be a little more lax with my diet and physical activity. Trust me, its made the difference.

to much protein drinks not enough real foods hun.

Real food has vitamens, fiber, and is harder to digest so you burn more calories digesting as well. Ptrein drink have maybe 300calories in them. SO your barly getting 1400......if that........

for break fast eat some eggs and whole wheat toast......

lunch... have a turky sandwich with a slad, or some veggies and yougert.

less fod you eat, more fat your gonna store......and your metabloism will start slowing way down.

And finally, i'm sure your b/f will still love you regardles what you look like......if he don't then you need a new b/f.

Hey Andrew, I was used to workout on empty stomach. After reading the cardio posts, I decided to have something before I leave home. Protein drink was the least heavy stuff I could think of. I read some where that you should take protein right after workout.

I used to eat real food, but change trying to get better result. Maybe with 2 days off, I will get better result with real food.

My boyfriend will love me how I look. It's just me trying to impress him with good result. We used to work out together, so I kinda want to show off how hard I was working out while he was gone.

Do you have any suggestion on my workout routine?
