With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
Yikes!! Pretty scary, and folks wonder why I have such an affinity against any kind of "professional" medical attention.

in US many of the same difficulties in litigation would also be encountered....when my mom wanted to sue this doctor for messing up on her surgery for facial lift...she was told quite clearly that she would need to go well outside the area to find anyone willing to go up against the doctor who was well respected in the area...
same thing happened with my grandmother...doctors badly misdiagnosed her and wasted a year before catching her spleen cancer which was removed way too late....after numerous blood transfusions, and so on.....then in the recovery stage at this clinic...she got an infection from poor care and died shortly after....ofcourse the mere suggestion of 'negligence' drew room into a silence and that 'she was simply old' was a conclusion.....the fact that she was perfectly fine year before was not even mentioned....
litigation in US is somewhat easier......in US preponderence of evidence in civil cases is jsut 51-49% distribution....also in your type of case with clear case of negligence...there would be gross negligence damages that are usually only rewarded very rarely on top of simple compensation(loss of wages, hospitalization, etc).....a lot of US law is based on the British common law yet I think US law evolved quite a bit in certain regards....
Britain is a smaller country so the medical community is probably in better touch with each other...I would have suggested you seeked help in the other part of the country...in other words find legal counsel and doctors there...but then I am not sure how close knit the medical community is there....
