I am doing a free 2 week trial at the Ya Ya Fitness Center by my house. It's like curves, but with the addition of Pilates,Yoga, and an hour workout instead of a half hour that includes weights and ab work. It also has tanning and massage. The first 2 weeks are free, and in that time I can take pilates or yoga for only 5 dollars.

It's 30 bucks a month on a year long plan without registration fees, which is great in the money department too.

My question is, because it does have the additional classes and such, would this be worth my money. I found I did really well 2 years ago @curves where there was a set amount of structure. Whatdya think? Should I invest in this, or just stick with the few machines in our apartment complex gym?

what does your apart. complex gym have?? & do you use it?

I did enjoy going to curves, as much for the workout as for the people. I do use our apartment gym, however if someone is on the tredmill and elipitcal I have to either wait until they are done, or come back later, and if there are more than 3 people in the room it feels very clostrophobic.

I think the structure would be good for me(I do my best in structured environments)and I think I might enjoy being able to take a yoga class.

I would sign up for the shortest program & see how you do - see if you go for 3 months

Well, I had my first day at YaYa yesterday, and there is a huge difference between it and Curves. It is the same principle of a circle of hydrolic machines and jump pads, but the machines can be adjusted to make you work harder or easier. They also have steppers for you to use if you don't want to use jump pads, and encourage you to use weights either while on the jump pads or after you finish the circle.

They also had tredmills, bikes, and eliptical trainers, as well as yoga balls and dumbells for use at any time.

For the first 2 weeks, I am going 5 days a week, but I won't be doing the same thing which is good. Yesterday I did the full 30 minute workout on the circle, and today I will be doing 20 minutes of that and 10 minutes on the bike.

Sorry this is so long, I am just really excited. It was fun to be there, the people were great, and most importantly, I felt safe being there without a workout buddy, because there were already quite a few women there, and it is in a well lit shopping center.

Can't wait to go tonight!!
