Alright, I've been doing alot of research on some professional trainer organizations, and I've singled out a few Professional Trainer institutes that look reputable. If anyone has any advice, thoughts, or especially bad dealings with any of these, I'd appreciate a heads up. I plan on getting out of the military this fall, and would like to be certified by late summer. I'll need some marketable skills so I don't end up on my a@# when I do...

ISSA-very possible avenue, lots of mention in posts here
NASM-possible, looks reputable ($649 for training though?)
NESTA-looks decent ("Buy 'Advanced Trainer' and get 'Regular' certification for cheaper, What's up w/ that?)
AFTA-Looks good, a little bit generic, not highly advanceable
IFPA-Good, but annual renewing plus 10 CEUs every year?

Thoughts anyone? Thanks ya'll...
Josh

I am also CanFitPro certified and I know that all trainers at Goodlife fitness Clubs have to be certified through them as well.

Thanks Menace, Bropie, Lonegirl-No offense meant to the Canadians here... But is there anyone that has experiences (good or bad) or knowledge in the above organizations that are internationally available to both you fine Canadians and Americans. Thanks!

Menace,
Thanks man for your replies. You seem to give good advice pretty often, so I appreciate your thoughts.
I think that the majority of the PT posts here referenced ISSA and NASM in a good light. That's pretty much what I'm looking around for. I'm willing to hear anybody's case if they have anything more to add. I've got about 3 months left here in Iraq, so I'm looking to be decided on one by redeployment in June.

Thanks. I love to tell myself the same thing, when I'm out doing my long runs around the compund. "Please no mortars, please no mortars, I'm running really good today" It's pretty funny actually. We laugh about it I guess to take the edge off of it. But so far so good.
ISSA I can take online, and it looks really good. Ivan has told me he enjoys it alot. I don't think I can take the NASM online for what I've seen. Correct? Are you certifed, or just a bodybuilder? Thanks again
Josh
