This is very odd. I workout one day and the following day I'm sick (cold symptoms. i.e: stuffy nose, aches, sneezing) for the next 4-5 days. Is there something wrong with me? Am I over training? Could it be that my body is not used to the exercise that it goes is shock? This has happened to me twice now. I'm wondering if I should stop working out. But I don't want to stop. I enjoy it. Can someone shed some light on this for me.
Thanks.

Welcome to the boards kkx81.
Just sounds like you caught a cold. Are you taking any vitamin supplements? If not it is strongly suggested.
How long have you been training?

It is one of two things. One is that you have allergies, or you have a type of stress induced DOMS, or Delayed Onset Muscle Sorness, which can cause sorneness, and some of the types of things you are experienceing. If you are not used to the workouts then this might be its way of dealing with it. If it does not stop see your doc.

Thanks guys for your quick replies. I've only been training for a month now, 3 times a week. First time, I have to admit, I did do alot. I did a program called "BodyPump". Then another time i did cardio only. 25 minutes of treadmill & 20 minutes of bicycle.
I'm officially starting my ftPRO scheduled workouts Monday. I can't wait. I'm looking forward to it. I hop to achieve results fast. In time for summer (June/July).
This site is fantastic.

Careful with this one!
I myself suffer from a condition which can cause exrcised induced anaphylaxis. Your symptoms sound very much like a mild allergic reaction to exercise. If you notice tingling lips, tightness in your chest, wheezing, facial swelling you need to seek medical attention ASAP!!
One question, do you remember if you ate within a few hours before working out? The attacks can often be relieved by not eating at least 3 hours before working out.
If in doubt see a Dr.. The above condition is not simply an annoyance it is life threatening and requires immediate medical care.

Thanks luvthemtorts. I'll keep an eye out for the signs you just mentionned. I didn't eat anything prior to working out. I've gone to the gym only twice so far (because of how i feel the next day(s)) and each time this happens. I haven't noticed those symptoms as yet. But if I do, I'll be sure to take your advice.

I'm such a silly goose!
I just researched exactly what DOMS is and found that it could also be due to not stretching or warming up prior to working out. I'm guilty of that. Silly me, I didn't stretch or warm up before starting my work out. I'm going to start doing that from this point on. I know I'm supposed too, heck everyone in these forums says too.
I bet you that's what my problem is.

Remeber to cool down after a workout too, that's at least as important as warming up to prevent DOMS. You will probably also find that the doms lessen after a while of exercising too.
