Since August, I have cut out junk and have gone down from 145lbs to 125lbs (5'5 female). I eat 1600 cals per day (400,200,400,200,400).

From what I've read, it seems to be too little BUT I am not tired anymore, not lazy, and am very alert from when I was eating poorly before (2500-3500 cals). So what gives? My typical day:

Breakfast
Ham, turkey, mushroom and cheese sandwich (no dressing)
Coffee

Snack
2 mushrooms w/ranch dip
1 can of tuna

Lunch
Salad with turkey breast & italian dressing

Snack
Usually varies

Dinner
Usually a soup and salad

I hope I'm on the right track. I go to the gym for about an hour 3x per week

Your almost at 13 cal/lb (12 is the lowest healthy amount). You might be losing muscle along with the fatty tissue. The calories are too low for maintenamce but in the healthy range for fat loss. You might be taking valuable muscle with it if you don't exercise and eat enough protein.

Carivan-

That ratio that you said: 13cal/lb. What does that mean, and how do you figure out the formula.

Thanks :)
