This thought just came to me today, I think I know the answer but wanted to open a good honest discussion, hope this makes sense.

Lets take to lifters for this exercise male. one weighs 195lbs he is lifter A. Lifter B weighs 300. B can squat a max of 350. A can squat a max of 250. Who is stronger? I mean the obvious answer is B but is he really? I came up with the thought that if A is lifting at his absoulte max as is B, then with the force they use to lift that weight not be the same? Just because one is lifting a higher max is that the only way to judge true strength? I hope this makes sense.

a) 195 squats 250 lifts 55lbs more than bodyweight
b) 300 squats 350 lifts only 50lbs more than body weight.

If your going for pound for pound, like how much you lift over your bodyweight..........the lift (A) wins that by 5 lbs. So both are pretty equal in that instance.

both produce I think basicly the say % of force...50-55lbs more than they each weigh.

but if you say absolute stregth..(B) obviously wins.
