Are the cardio benefits from recumbent bikes any good? Do you burn as many calories on a recumbent bike as a traditional stationary bike?
I ask because my gym at work offers both and I never know which one to use. Seems like from what I've seen at my work gym, thin men are on the traditional bikes and women and larger men are on the recumbents.
I've tried both and the recuments are definitely more comfy, but I just don't know if they are the same.

They are the same the recumbent bikes put less stress on your back. Actually men all should use the recumbents becuase the way we sit on a bike seat affects the artery that controls blood flow down there.

Thank you! I have done both types of bike and because the recumbent bike was just more comfy, I wondered if I would get the same workout.
