Hi, I know ya'll are trying to build muscle, well I'm the opposite I am trying to lose muscle. My calves are around 13.5 inches, I personally don't think they look to feminime so I want to do something about them! :surprised:I know I can reduce muscle by not exercising my legs, but I can't help it exercise is a part of my life. What other ways are there to reduce muscle in my calves?

sure its muscle and not fat, bulk is usually fat over muscle? If its that, you need to lean up by cutting calories. But if they are musclear, don't train them, but once every 2 weeks or so.

personally I like muscler legs, butt, calves on a girl......rather they be muscler than flabby?

I don't know if this would work, but theoretically if you did more endurance work with your calves (eg cardio) , slow twitch fibres, which are less bulky would predominate.

what exercise do you do at the moment?

erm.. i only really work out in the gym at school, got a gym at home but don't get round to using it! I do every method of training you can imagine... cardio, interval, farlek the list goes on. Don't lift loose weights, lift small weights on for example leg press. Do quite alot of running on the tredmill - highest inclimb, 75% for about 15 mins. Do about 15mins on the bikes.

Well... really what I think I need to do, is set up a weekly routine, where I cut out all strenuous leg activitys and focus on other things, but I don't know what those other things are right now!! That's because my body is quite muscular already, I believe I need to lose some muscle to gain more curves. Anyone know the best way for that!!

Sorry to ramble on.
Regards
Sara

Sorry, I did not realise you were 15. As far as gaining more curves goes, then I'm afraid the main thing you need is patience - you still have a few years of development to go. :)

As far as your training goes, I don't think you have to avoid "strenous" leg activity, just shift to more endurance work, as endurance muscle is less bulky than power (which is why sprinters are bulkier than marathon runners). If you don't already, try including one or two longer paced cardio sessions in your training.
