Last night I just gave in to it. I had been at a rehearsal that went nowhere until 11pm. I was starving and hadn't been home after work to feed myself or the cats. I stopped at Bi-Lo on the way home and got some kind of chicken nuggets and hummus. And I ate it all. I'm ashamed...of course I'm ashamed of most everything since I was raised Baptist.

LOL been there doing that! It just seems easier when the weather is nice to eat better, at least for me. But if last night is the only bad day you had do not sweat it my man!

You're still doing great! It was only one messed up meal on one day. Don't feel bad, just jump back in that healthy diet wagon for the rest of the week... When I fall off I tend to hit the ground, roll into the ditch and spend the rest of the week in the gutter! So there, now, you can stop feeling ashamed and begin feeling righteously superior.

LOL Is that all you had? I had a massive binge eating session, which lasted 2 days. I had 7 chocolate bars in one day, sticky toffee pudding, 3 crisp sandwiches, at least 14 small cakes and to top it off I had chocolate porridge and ice cream. The 2nd day was even worse. But in my defence I hadn’t eaten anything nice for 2 months and I had flu plus PMT. You should allow yourself a little treat once a week to stop yourself from binge eating. I found that if I go for a month without anything nice I just end up binge eating, so I allow myself something nice once a week then I’m less likely to binge.

I'm back on the wagon. I think I worry so much since I used to fall right into the ice cream section at the store. It was nothing to eat a 1/2 gallon with a package of cream horns and some doughnuts while watching TV. It got so bad at one point a checkout girl at the store asked me if I was okay, since I bought a lot of ice cream and junk food. "Nope. I'm depressed...and when I'm depressed I eat." Oddly enough, we started dating not long after that and I lost a good bit of weight. Only to gain it back when it was over.

It's not bad if you have a couple of scoops. It is bad if you eat the whole carton.

Ice cream really is an excellent comfort food and sometimes we need that kind of comfort, though I am not advocating that behavior.
I have small pyrex custard cups that I use for treats and even though I'm not a big eater to begin with, this helps keep the portions small. Even my children have learned to appreciate the little custard cups and have learned the difference between a treat and a meal.
Keep pushing.
