Hi,

I'm male, 21, training 4 days per week. I'm going to start a new programme next year, also training 4 days per week but I'm going to start karate do also, 1.5 hours on Mondays and Fridays. I'm jogging and walking 3 days per week now for an hour. Need I reduce my jogging-walking if I start karate-do? I thought of just jogging once a week since I have 3 hours of karate-do per week. And my end aim is to bulk up. Is this too much cardio?

Thank you.

If you are looking to bulk up, I would think that the karate by itself would be more than enough cardio. I would stop the jogging and walking aside from your day to day activities.

Cardio will prevent you from bulking up. Karate has lots of stretching and cardio for warm ups. Just in the warm-ups there are 17 kicks. I wouldn't reduce your jogging unless you run out of time.
