Hi Guys

just q quick Q...

when you guys say you can bench x amount. That figure is in pounds right? so somebody is saying they can lift 250, thats 110kg.....
the figure I have seen here ppl quote for there bench.. well seem to high....

I go to a fairly big gym, where u get all kind of ppl in, and I have seen one guy lift around 90kg which is about 210

so how is it possible that everybody seems to be able to lift those weights, you got 16 year old lifting 160 etc..
when nobody i know/Have seen is any where near that.....

It is all about taking your time. Some people are naturally going to do a lift better than you, just as you will do a lift better then them. I have to ask what gym you go to that the strongest amoung you benches only 90kg? I have seen woman lift that. In fact BB1fit's wife benches 135lbs.....but do not let that scare you when I started I could barely bench 95lbs..now I can hit over 300. You just need to stay consistent with your training and soon the weight will come.

thanks mate

I know, that some ppl are just strong and it doesnt bother me what I can bench, as long as I am progressing, which I am..
it just amazing to hear that ppl can bench those kind of weights...

my gym, well they have all the equipment, great looking women, but not a place for bodybuilders....

back to the bench

some gyms tend to be more 'hardcore' than others...certain gyms like CLub One or Balilys, or Gorilla Fitness have people who go there who only do cardio...or lift lighly...some to jsut say 'they belong' to a gym..people at these gyms are not going to be doing heavy weights...

I went to many gyms over the years, and that's the conclusion I came to. In some gyms I been to, they don't even have barbells, racks, or dumbells over 75lb(fitness USA, worst gym i ever seen)

If your goal is on becoming stronger or bigger, do yourself a favor and join a hardcore gym...might not be as 'cutsy' and 'pretty looking', but you'll have all the equipment and u can do ur cardio on the way to the gym by walking...also if you're the type of person who gets motivated by huge/strong guys...then it's definately for u..because u can ask form/exercise questions, and most guys are cool about it...

if u get intimidated by ^ then I guess the answer is to work out where u do.

I personally like my gym for the equipment it has...fact that I never seen anyone use the squat rack doesn't bother me, cuz i got it all to myself for squats, deadlifts lol
tho it's a tradeoff, cuz no1 knows what 'spotting' is...

Also most peopel train for a body building aspect of working out, that is they wanan look good more so than lift big weights.......except for bench, most want a high bench, but stil most are more concered abotu their chest and abbs.

While the few select of us......mutt, menace, myself, gator just to name a few want to get stronger and lift the most weight possible. Its al abotu what you want. I'm not strickly hardcore powerlifter......I still do stuff like flys, and db presses......stuff like that, just all depends on your trianing, and what YOU want.
