Glucosamine Condroiten

2004/11/10, 05:03 PM
My knee joints started hurting about 6 months ago. I tried the glucosamine and the joint pain gradually subsided. About 3 weeks ago I ran out of glucosamine and we've been slack replacing it. Over the last week the knees started hurting gradually and today really with a vengance. We've bought the stuff again because now I'm a believer.

I've seen reports on TV and heard one on the radio that glucosamine was basically a waste of money. I don't believe the reports now.

Any opinions?

Since I have been on the stuff, about a month now, my arthritic knees don't crack anymore when I squat, and vitually painless.

The reports I get on it are mostly all positive.

Glucosamine, especially with chondroitin, is effective. Only thing to note is to check the strength. Some of the cheaper brands only have 500 mg per tab. General feeling is that the daily tabs should have 1000mg to 1500mg. My mum's been using this stuff for a while, she also says shark cartilege is good. Think she takes that as well as the glucosamine.
Another thing to note, my gran recently went through a knee operation due to arthritic knees. She was in a bit of pain a while ago and she got a liquid "Joint Lub". Don't know exactly what's in it but I'm assuming it's similar to glucosamine. I'll have a look and post the ingredients.
I should really get back into taking tabs also, my knees sound like fireworks going up and down stairs.
I agree, it's good stuff.

i use 1000mg a day and sometimes i'm a fool and drop an extra one especially chest and arms training days as i have one elbow that tends to be a bit weak and it's the joint pain thing as i get older.
this gear really does seem to work wonders as before i discovered it i was pretty much, in agony with this constant joint ache.
i buy huge bottles now so i've got about 9 months stock so i dont run out.
