I am new to this site. So far I am very satisfied with this site. I have been following the workouts and love this forum. People here give great advice. So hopefully you guys can help me.

I am about 5'11. In the past year I have gone from 260lbs to 206lbs. I am 21 yrs. old. For the past month or so I have been a member of this site. My ultimate goal is to reach 190 or so but get between 10-15% body-fat. Right now I am at 23%. I have read on this forum that your main focus on losing weight should be weight training rather than cardio. Which I like, I love to lift and hate to run. I have gotten to where I am now with minimal cardio. (20-25 min 2-3 days a week), and lifting 3-4 days a week at home on my dumbell set. Now that I have lost a lot of weight is it going to be harder to lose the last 10-15lbs? The weight that I really am concerned with is my waist, I still have a gut. Are there any tips on how to lose that weight specifically? Also do you recommend that I step up my cardio, and should I jog or bike? I would also like to achieve more muscle definition so do I need to do higher reps or just do more cardio? This is a lot to ask, but I would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks!

Great work so far crisp01. Weight training and cardio do work together to lose fat. Remember though, you can't spot reduce.
I would definately increase your cardio up to 40 min everyday. If you are doing legs, Let the cardio take care of that, and continue upper body but a bit less. Just enough to stay toned as you don't want to build mass right now. Try a step machine, or elipticle trainer, but do 20 min on 2 different machines. Steps will build your legs as will an elipticle trainer. Jogging is kind of hard on the joints.
For the definition do 8-12 reps lighter weights.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice carivan. I will definitely step the cardio up a few notches. But I do not have access to any machines. I do not have a gym membership, nor can afford one now. So I infer that I should bike for forty min. 5 days a week rather than jog, because it easier on the joints. Is this correct? Thanks again.

If you can bike (as in bicycle) all the better. Try to find a street or trail with a hill, and go up and down, this will get your hr to where you want it. Bycycling is great as long as you always put the effort. You can also monitor your pedal revolutions per minute. Good luck.
