Nothing wrong with that at all!

I definitely get ill less often than I used to before I started working out.

Some peoples perception of illness is different too - one person might complain of a blocked nose, the other would "have the flu" with exactly the same symptoms.

My Dad is very healthy, and he didn't have a day off sick for 30 years.

You are spending time worrying because you HAVEN'T had a cold or some similar malady in the last four years?

gibbondaniel, I'm with ya. Sickness is all about perception in the majority of cases. As princess so kindly mentioned, hey princess :), everyone views sickness differently. There are people (no names mentioned) in my life who are constantly sick, or at least perceive themselves this way. There is of course times when you are truely sick and it's obvious to everyone around you. With different people and immune systems, sickness at that level can be years apart or as little as days and even hours for some. So be happy you have a great immune system and stay healthy!

well one thing, i have gone alomst 3 years without getting sick sick.( knock on wood) A sniffle here or there but nothing bad.

Now, when you work out you get more muscle, more muscle means more blood on average. Also with a good diet you get all the vitmens you need, so your immune system builds up, an dtheres is more white blood cells patrolling th eblood stream, cause you have more "area to cover"

Also mental well being too, when you work out, you "feel " good, have less stress etc. IF you have no stress, you don't get down in the dumps and stuff. If you stay stressed out, it actually shuts down your immune system. So you get sick!

This is why working out is so great, you feel good, look beter, feel beter about your self, and even though gym dues ar elike 300 a year, you save so much not taking off from work, or going to the doc.

All "illnesses" from the common cold on are all immune system related. If your immune system is in order and humming along, you will ward off virtually everything. Keeping the immune system strong though is key. If you are too lax in your diet and antioxidants, your immune system will pay the price. Preventive maintenance so to speak is essential.
