Hi,

I'm sure that you get this all the time. I'm a female looking to trim and tone, especially trying to lose 10-15lbs. I'm already in decent shape - doing cardio and weights almost every day. I've been reading bb1's recommendations about limiting cardio. So I should try to do weights and cardio seperately, and only do 25 to 30 mins cardio at a time, come of it doing intervals?

Is there something wrong with doing 30 to 60 minutes of cardio? I have been doing 30/60 mins cardio, then doing my weights program ...

Also, what are the best machines for women to use to try to tone up but also slim down? This site seems kind of geared to those who want to bulk up ... what about those of use trying to lose?

Thanks in advance!

The way i do it is weight one day and cardio the next, so three days of weight training and 3-4 days of cardio a week. when i do cardio i only do about 30 min. right now. When i stop loosing weight i will up my cardio training to 40 min. and so on till i reach 60 min.You want to gradually increase because if you start of doing 60 min. really have no where to go unless you want to spend an hour and a half on the treadmill. You can also try doing HIIT once a week. If your ging to do weight and cardio on the same day it is suggested that you do weight in the am and cardio in the pm seperated by at least 8 hours. Toning will come as you loose fat and expose the muscle underneath. Try for 6-8 reps with heavier weight that way your telling your body that you need your muscles and it will look to fat for energy. Look at my post in the specific diet and nutrition headed "Constantly hungry" bb1 posts some very informative information on loosing weight. Because in the end your diet is going to determine how tone you are.
