Yesterday I recommitted to my exercise program after a long hiatus...I had a great workout last night, but I woke up this morning with a wicked sore throat. Is it pure coincidence, or is there some connection, do you think? And, is it ok to work out when you're feeling under the weather?
thanks!

Well, it may be sore from excessive breathing and maybe a few grunts. And as long as you feel you have enough energy, workout, just take er down a notch, in fact it may help to get the blood flowin and such. If your in there for 5-10 mins and you feel that you cant do anything, listen to your body, it knows what it's talking about. And congrats on the recommitment.

Personally, I work out unless I have a fever or am tired, I may back off a bit, but I try to do something.
If you are working out three days or more a week, time off isn't going to hurt your progress either, so rest if you need it. It seemed whenever I first started working out I would get ill with something, I think it was my body not used to the stress and trying to complain as I continued and I felt fine again, but if you got some bug, listen to your body first and foremost, only you can tell where your stamina is, just as richardjst mentioned. I've found if I am truly ill and it isn't exercise related, I can't exercise after a few minutes as he said, also, I get exhausted.
Hope you are feeling better!
