So something weird happened over the 4th.... My gym was closed 3 days, and I didn't work out Fri, Sat, Sun, OR Mon.. I hate alot, but healthy for the most part which in itself was impressive. So I go to the gym today and step on the scale. I lost 6 lbs over this lazy, food filled weekend. How'd that happen? And I checked on two different scales to make sure I was reading it right... So if this is normal, I'm gonna be lazy and eat lots all the time! haha. jk! But seriously, can anyone explain this? And how unhealthy is it that this happened?

Females can carry extra water and shed it, but six pounds over three days seems a bit odd, I work my tail off six days a week weight training and cardio and eat healthy and average 2 pounds a week if I'm lucky and that took some doing! Well, I guess you never know! I took the suggestion of someone here and I weigh in first thing in the morning on the same scale right after using the bathroom in my p.j.'s, that way I am as accurate as I can get. I can get on the scale before bed and after being on my feet all day and it says I gained two pounds, by morning it isn't there! Weird, too, but I've checked it out a few times and I have found it to be true!
Well, looks like your six pounds lighter, though, I'd take that!

Good job kaiaw! I think sometimes people lose weight in clumps. Nothing for a long time and then BAM 5 pounds overnight. Have you're inches changed?

periods and your lifecycle does account for a lot and the time/day you weigh yourself...
I'm male and basically have a constant weight which is lately 172 pounds at 6am in the morning and up to 179 pounds in the evening about 8pm after dinner.
This fluctuation is normal and caused by bodily functions, water levels, toilet and food etc...
I've found it easier to understand that I have two weights- am and pm.. I accept it as normal because it is.
From an exercise and nutrition point of view- the sudden change to not exercising is a shock to the system- okay so you wont be shaking nervously but all the same it's a change in habit. Maybe your body decided it didn't need to hold onto some energy(fat) as it wasn't exerting much and was getting 'good' food. So if you hit the gym now you may carry this a couple of pounds further and then like everything- your body gets used to it again so you try a new trick or the same trick again! best of luck
