Not really familiar with the variations of the"jerk" movements. I rarely do "power lifting" exercises. Sorry I am no help on this one. I will do some research and give you some answers later. This will be a while though, because I leave tomorrow for a 10 day trip to Mexico.

That is a powerlifting move. Seems to have little to know muscle shaping value.

dude it is a weightlifting exercise, no doubt the best weight training exercise of all. If it has no 'muscle shaping value', then why do athletes who do it seem to have big muscles?

There is a major difference between a "big" muscle and a "shaped" muscle ready for presentation at a show. What muscles does this effect? I could probably give you some bodybuilding oriented alternatives.

the muscles that it works best are:
*calves
*hams
*quads
*glutes
*hips
*lower back, midsection
*lats
*traps & upper back
*delts
*biceps, triceps
*forearms
See what I mean, if I did them in bodybuilding style it would take a long time, and I probably wouldn't gain any power or acceleration
