In short...I hate them. I am sure they do wonders but they are so uncomfortable to me. Anyone else have that problem? I_sly

I_sly - how are ya?
I love them personally.. I hope that u do them to the front.. because to the back works your chest over back. How is your form?

I think I am an opposite sly....I actually like them. Do they feel uncomfortable because it seems awkward or that is a weaker muscle for you?

Lat pull downs are awsome. Maybe your going to heavy. Be sure to use a good form and a weight that can be controled. Don't use your all body but concentrate on flexing your lats every rep.

they`re ok. don`t use too much weight and start to feel the form and then increase the weight.....
I do them to the back `cause I feel it more...

Strict form is a must. I don't like using any momentum in the lift. ALL BACK. Start with light weight and do it in a manner that feels comfy to you. You'll be alright.

maybe it feels uncomfortable because the stabilization muscles in your back aren't being worked. Maybe they just aren't right for you, and if thats so, then stick to chinups/pullups, which are great for functional strength and balance. How many times have we all seen those guys at the gym doing a lot of weight on the pulldown, and not being able to do 15 or 20 reps of chins for sets??

Great analysis mongrel2012. Also, follow advice from above that say pull to the front. don't lean to far back. Also, bentover barbell rows are much more effective.
