My ex-bfriend was a runner.. he was in excellent shape, flat stomach, the abs, etc. My new bfriend is also a runner... Hmmm and he is in good shape too. But me, I don't run. Maybe I cannot run to save my life. I have been trying to do HIIT by running on the treadmill and then walking and running again, etc.

I need to lose like 10pds. I have a chubby stomach. I do ab exercises 3 times a week, go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do weight training and then cardio.

I eat healthy all week long and cheat on the weekends.

Is it hard to work up to running? I don't have the best knees cause I screwed them up by playing basketball in high school and in college.

Thanks.. ~

How many boyfriends do you have? I do recall you posted that your boyfriend/guy you were seeing/guy friend/occasional hookup/male aqcuaintance, did not work out, and that you could not be with someone who did not care about their health. What gives?

Hi vivavegas, it's not hard once you set your goals for it... I had an ACL surgery on my right knee because of a basketball injury about a year ago and now I run 3.5 miles 3-4 times a week... You might want to start with short running intervals, around 3-4 min and then rest for 30 sec, keep going until you reach 20 min or so... You will be running 3.5 miles in about 8 weeks, at least that worked for me...

Hope this helps

I am doing a 12 week wal to run program that I read in Prevention magazine. And if I can get my fat butt to do it, you certainly can. I believe the program is posted on the prevention website www.prevention.com

All depends why you want to run. If it is only to be beside your boyfriend, forget it. It isn't worth screwing up your joints and back from the impact. But if it is cardio exercise you are looking for, it will help your heart. Treadmill takes some of the stress off the joints but an elipticle machine is best. Then, you don't have to run(unless you wanna chase the boyfriend!).

hecdarec -

I am only seeing one guy now.. a new guy that I mentioned is a runner. The last guy I dated well things didn't work out. I live in Mass and he moved to Vegas and so I stopped hearing from him. But it was really hard to go out to eat with him all the time and have him order the most completely unheathly thing on the menu. But now the tables are turned. I am not in the best shape, need to lose 10 pds and the new guy I am seeing is in awesome shape. Hmmmm. But I do want to get in shape not for anyone else but for me.
