I just started working out about a month or so ago. For some reason I am having trouble working out my biceps. I do preacher curls with a barbell followed by standing dumbell curls followed by preacher hammer curls and standing hammer curls. I also do concentration curls. (all using the underhand grip, except for the hammer curls of course) The thing is, my forearms and elbows feel like they are getting worked out more than my biceps. My biceps arent very tight after the workout, nor are they very sore afterwards. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like i am trying hard. Please help! :(
slow down(probably)...
take the preacher curl for instance. Make sure it takes a second or two to lift the weight and 2 to 3 seconds to lower it for each rep. When you've done your last set have a weight 2 or 4 kilos lighter ready and force out 2 or 3 more final reps with that.. Do this as best you can for all exercises...
As a newbie to this in a first month you will find weak muscles not used to exercise will reveal themselves...
I mean look at a new runner- the ankles feel battered and the rest of the legs don't mind at all. Also don't expect miracles- it will take much time to see the results of your efforts so patience is important too.
