Hey ya'll...

I have about an extra 15 lbs that I would like to lose. I would actually be okay will staying at this weight as long as I toned everything up. My extra weight is in my stomach and butt (my legs aren't too bad but I wouldn't mind them being a little more toned). My abs feel strong but I am having a huge problem getting rid of the fat that is covering them.

I've only been on this weight lifting schedule for 2 weeks and I've been doing cardio everyday for atleast 30 mins. Should I be doing cardio everyday like that or take more days off? I am following the weight lifting schedule strictly. I was also wondering...with the weight lifting program should I be increasing my weights with each set (start lower weight for my set of 20 and then go higher for each set after that....does that makes sense?) or should I be staying with a constant weight with each set during an exercise?

Also, is it true that the elliptical is going to make my butt and thighs get big? I already have pretty good muscle mass in my thighs but I don't want my butt and legs to get out of control big. I've been doing the interval program because I thought that was supposed to burn more calories by doing aerboic and anarobic exercise.

I think that's all the questions I have for right now...but I'm sure more will come. I hope it's okay to post this kind of thing in this forum, if not just let me know. Thanks for any and all advice.

Ashley

Oh and this is completely off subject, but why won't it let me load a picture? :(

You posted in the right place, don't worry about that.
The elipticle trainer is one of the best cario workouts you can have because you are burning more calories per session than a treadmill or bike or actually running. Don't wory about your thighs and butt getting extremely big from that because it won't happen. It is good to alternate cardio every other week though, just so your body doesn't get use to the same routine.
With regards to your lifting...lift with what ever weight you feel comfortable with, providing the last 3 reps give you resistance. Increase the weight as you see fit, but continue to keep perfect form. If you can't, then reduce the weight.
Be patient and you will enjoy the results.
