I can't get the message for New Challenge 2004 to upload, it has a large ad that runs on it, I don't know if that is the problem, but I tried over and over and it just won't load fully, I can get everything else. So, please email me the message if anyone can. Thank you very much.

This won't make a whole lot of sense, but i tried to copy the important information for you - hope it helps:

Okay I am going to create a spreadsheet to track the competition on the three powerlifts: bench, dead, and squat.

I am thinking that the weight should also be maintained in this spreadsheet.. for the weekly ratio to be correct, the new body weight will need to be re-entered along with the new lift weights, right??

**Action for everyone who wants to be included**
Some time in the next week or so, send me an IM with your name, your starting body weight, your current maxes, and your experience level.

Questions to be answered before sending info:
1.)What are the experience levels? Novice, Intermediate and Professional?? Or just Beginner and Advanced?
2.)Are the maxes 1 rep, 3 reps, 8 reps, or does it matter since we're doing percent improvement??

Also, unless there is a way to post the file here on the site, I can do one of two things.. post it on my home web page through the cable company, or create a yahoo group to post it to (never done this but I think it's free) or.. if anyone has a webserver that would host it, that's cool too.

Ok, IM me if you are participating in BF%, inches lost or gained. Send me current measurements and BF% as computed by you at mybodycomp.com. Edit out the ankle, wrist and knee meaurements because they shouldn't change.

IM Dani if you are in for bench, squat, deadlift.
Dani will be posting on another subject line attempting to tweak in exactly how to score. Please contribute your input there.

If there are other categories you want competition on post them here. So far chins have been suggested. We need more input.
HHHMMMMMMMMM, not much activity here. I have receiced 4 or 5 sets of stats. Don't know what Dani has gotten.

First off welcome to the new folks. The more we have participating, the better. Everybody should know there are events like the 3 lift category all the way to simple weight loss or measurement changes. That means all levels of folk can play and expect a reasonably balanced field. I think the only one we need to watch is her highness from Scotland. She may bend the rules a bit.

To those already participating ,be sure that you mention the Challange to other FT ers who may be interested. If you don't want any of your statistical info posted, DON'T send it. For now I will only post BF% when the contest starts in an effort to save bandwidth.

The diminsional competition will be scored like this.

Each good increase like chest, biceps, calves, thighs etc will be given 1 point per 1/4 " change. I understand Ivan {Carivan}is quite Einstienien and volunteer him to help those who need it.LOL

Each good decrease will be scored the same way. Eg. 1/4 inch off the waist, abdomen, head etc will be given 1 point.

You will have to score yourself. I think its too much for 1 person to keep up with. Send me point updates every 2 weeks. At the end of the Challange send me your stats again and I will verify your results.

On BF% send those updates every 2 weeks. For now the BF% is all I will post except to give updates on who is in the point lead on measurement competition. You new to fitness folk have a huge advantage here because you will shead inches and BF% faster than those who have been doing it a while.

Asimmer and Hec da rec will be the enforcers if anybody wants to quit, cheat, whine, moan, cry, or stray from their diet. You don't want to get on their bad sides. Uh, well actually every side is bad but you get my drift.

We need to chat this thing up, get your entries in, and keep those cards and letters coming. I also invite all moderators as well as George and Adrian to pla

Amy - I believe we send our BF% to Charlie and the other stats to datanigirl. Someone please correct me if I am wrong

Looks like I will be competing against you And me, I will not only pat my head and rub my tummy, I intend to hop on one leg to

NO need to drop out Lynnda! The challenge is calibrated so that no matter your goals there is a category for you.

It's the spirit of competition that is key here -- to get motivated and make a commitment to yourself; and see just what you can accomplish in two months when you set your mind to it.

Believe me we have entrants at EVERY level, you will not be alone.

Amy, send me your body weight and 1 rep maxes (as calculated here on FT) for whichever lifts you wish to compete in. The three for overall strength are bench, dead and squat, and we can add any other lifts that there is interest in (chins have been requested already).

Tex, sounds like we need to add the leg press so you can compete in something!!

Mybodycomp.com is only a tool. It is not accurate for measuring body fat. Only body fat calipers are accurate but everyone doesn't have those. We are using mybodycomp.com because everybody has access. The numbers will atleast be consistant and the measurements will be dead bang. DON'T PANIC WHEN YOUR BF% SEEMS REALLY HIGH!!!!!!

Thanks! Now, this is all to do with weightlifting, so if I don't have the particular machine to do these, I can't, is that right? I'm not sure if I got it totally, sorry, don't mean to be dense, just want to make sure I follow before I go measure these mean thighs of mine!! :surprised:

You can do it with dumb bells or free weights if you have them, if not then, maybe test against yourself in how many push-ups and crunches you can do.
