I usually wake up at about 6-6:30 a.m. to lift. I have been doing this now for a few months. I like it much better and it gives me a good jump at work and I don't have to worry about having time to do it at night. Here's my question. For the last week I can't wake up in the morning. I just can't do it like I have been. It's like there's kryptonite in my bed and I'm superman. My wife asks me are you going to the gym and I just say too tired. Does anybody have a failsafe way to wake up early. I go to bed early like about 10-11, so it isn't that. I like lifting. Anybody want to delve into it? Most appreciated. MerlinHog

Well I have the same problem so I go in the evening....also the nervous system and the muscles r more active later on in the day rather than right after sleep.
It can be something about your diet....maybe too less carbs. or vitamins. or fats.
I suggest you try the alarm......hehehe

are you eating enought carbs...
try a new diet to shock your system...try going on a mass diet for a few weeks just to see if it gives you a little more energy. After a day of heavy eating i'm ready to take on the world....

Hi merlinhog, I had the same problem except I get up at 5am and still do to this day. I found out that lifting weights you need more rest. I use to get by on 4hrs of sleep now I need 6 to 7. I keep trying to reach that 8hr mark but my body just won't let me. Try going to bed 1hr earler, and have some light carbs just before bed. I also have an extra shot of protein.

Merlinhog, Go to bed at 9:00 - 9:30. If you eat some carbs before bed you will have a better edge in the morning. Don't worry it want hurt you because when lifting in the morning your test levels are real high and you will burn extra calories. Also you may be overtraining. How many days straight do you lift? How many days im a row are you hitting the tread mill and/or Bike?
