I just need someone to explain it to me, when I do cardio and I have the board set to scan, METS is part of the scan. What is it and in what would would I want to use this? Thanks everyone.

A MET is the same as a metabolic equivalent. It is a way of saying the rate of energy expenditure from an exercise or physical activity. 1 MET is defined as the energy expenditure for sitting quietly, which for the average adult is approximately 1 kilocalorie per kilogram of body weight per hour burned. So if you weigh 60 kilograms, your energy expenditure for sitting quietly is approximately 60 calories, meaning you burn 60 calories per hour just from sitting quietly.
