Hello , I Was just wondering , I can bench 115 ( don't laugh you have to start somewhere lol ). I was just wondering, I can also bench that in my chest. Should I go lower for the muscles in my chest? Or Should I remain the same and bench what I can in my triceps for my chest as well. I dont want to hurt anything , know what I mean? :P
Also, Is it normal to have a little Pain in your chest on the day after working your chest muscles? Its not That bad of a pain, just a little sharp pain under my pectoralis muscles.
Thanx!
-Tim

you could do "regular" bench pressing on your chest days and "close grip" pressing on your tricep days... if your max is 115lbs, then it only makes sence for you to press lower weights than that on your regular work outs... you should probably be doing three or so sets of 10 or so reps... there are many programs out there for increasing your bench, but if you just want to keep it simple, just do something like 70%, 75%, 80% and 85%... that means that your first set (benching, on your chest day), do a set of 10 reps with 70% of your 115lbs max... then do a second set with 75%, then 80%, 85%... you get the idea...
after a couple of weeks you should see the difference, as you should be getting stronger, and the poundage you'll be lifting will go up... find a good program that'll help you reach your goals and stick to it... good luck to you, and welcome to FT!
