I do 40min of cardio 2 to 3 days a week. Is that too much?

yes its too much, or so many of the people on these boards have said. I dont know the exact reason why apart from maybe overtaining but you can try fitbuddy and pretty sure you'll find your answer there :)

I dont think it is too much. I would be interested to see why it would be too much if anyone thinks it is.

It depends on your goals, all this info I have is from this site, if your trying to build muscle, do your cardio before you lift, do a 5 minute cardio workout before lifting, and a few other things.

If your just trying to loose weight, I don't think you can ever really do too much cardio. There is something about your body eating your muscles from what these guys say.

It's not too much, though all you really need is 20 minutes of HIIT 2-3 times a week, while cutting.

I won't argue against those looking for variety. I just don't have time to burn for worse results.

HELP!
I'm doing cardio 2 times a day- 5-7 days a week!
I'm new at this- what is this HIIT that I keep reading about? How do I incorporate it? and am I doing way too much cardio??

I do it that often mostly because I enjoy it! - help please!

I am down to 36.5% Bodyfat- and am looking to get down to 22% (eventually)- with also doing weight training (with a trainer) 2-3 days a week ....

Thanks!!!

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training, do a FitBuddy search for further explanation. 2x/day, 5-7 a week I think, is way too much. I would look to your diet to loose that next 14%. I read a very interresting article once about a woman who "could not loose weight", even though she was doing cardio 6 x a week. Turns out, she wasn't eating enough and everything she did eat, her body stored, believing she was in "starvation" mode. Talk to your trainer, up the lifting, reduce the cardio and eat super clean. Good luck.
