Hello, I am currently taking Creatine supplements. I am on my 3rd day, still on the loading phase.
Before my workout today, I was feeling quite sore on my triceps , because I worked them 2 days ago. But I am usually never that sore on my triceps. So I pop a few tilenol. Im thinking its the creatine? I know it adds water to your muscle.
So yes now I can bench my weight light as a feather now. But I hear that it is bad to bench too much because you can tear a muscle if you over do it. So I am going to stay at this bench weight for a while. Ok so I breeze through my close grip bench press. So I am freakin out , whoo hoo so I wait about 2 minutes, then I start some dumbell bicep excercises. I dont feel them tearing, I just felt like a weird pushing. It felt like a baloon rolling inside of my muscle, this freaked me out so I quit excercising. I'm just wondering if I was about to tear a muscle and avoided it? I know I did a little heavier of a bicep dumbell curl than usual. But not that much heavier. Also, I am experiencing headaches, and my throat is hurting sometimes. Im sure this is due to the acid in the creatine product. I am also drinking a protein shake. Does this sound ok?
Thanks
-Tim

Sounds like you may not be drinking enough water.

are you taking cell tech? Cell tech has alpha lipoic acid in it that can burn your throat on the way down.

That feeling is normal I get it also. It's cramping caused by the build up of lactic acid in the muscle. As for the sore throat and head ache they might be un related. Alpha lipoic acid can give you heart burn when it first goes down. But when exposed to light ALA degrades and since it is in the powdered form does not have the affect it should. If you want ALA to help drive in your creatine just buy a regular creatine supplement no ALA added and buy yourself a bottle of r(+) ALA.
