While shaving this morning, i realized I have a secret potion to share with the rest of you. For some reason, on my face, I have two trouble spots, where I always get in-grown hairs after shaving. I went to the dermatologist and he prescribed me something called Desonide Lotion, 0.05%. This stuff is awesome. I use just a tiny bit on the troubled areas and never get in-grown hairs that lead to zits. You don't need much at all, I have had the same small bottle for over a year. This can be used anywhere else that you get ingrown hairs. This can also be used for women. My fiance' uses it after she plucks her eyebrows etc.

Anyone else got other shaving secrets?

If anyone else uses gillete sensor, how many times do you use the same blade? I use it twice and throw it away. I feel it gets dull after that and I get cuts.

I find that when I shave against the grain and with the grain, I avoid the problem of those nasty ingrown hairs.

A nother good one warm lather fill sink with hot water before shower. Then put the shave cream in the hot water. When you get out of the shower the lather will be warm and help beard stand up better.

shave after a shower, when your pores are open and the hairs are soft,or shave in shower and get a mirror( rub shaveing gel on it and it won't fog up) and get a gel I think they work better than the foam stuff, and they have aloe in it to keep from getting razor burn,

I hardly ever clean shave my face; I use a beard trimmer on shortest setting and live with perma-stubble. Not for everyone I know but it’s so much quicker and much better for my skin and I’ve already got back the money I spent on it, the cost of new razors is stupid.

They told us in the military to shave with cold water. No bumps... ever.

buy some. . . dare I say it. . . apricot scrub and exfoliate once a week, it'll get rid of dead skin cells that lead to ingrown hairs, also helps with that pimple problem as it requires you to wash your face

LOL same principle applies <just like shaving legs for women> exfoliate, find the right water temp for you, and the right mix of razor and shave cream or soap that works for you. Mainly it's gonna be trial and error till you find what works for you.

Exfoliate is one of the ugliest words I have ever seen. It is right up there with conglomerate.

i thought hot water was the way to go, to get the hair nice and soft so it cuts easier and stands up. thats why the barbers use the hot lather and a hot towel. i nver get aas good as a shave with cold water.

Judging by your picture you may want to shave more often.
