Your protein supplement should be included on all days. It is just that - a supplement, it is not intended to be a meal. So don't tease your muscles with varying amounts of protien on different days. If your asking if you should try to consume it during cardio? Good luck, most people would cardio to the porta-potty if trying pure protein on a long run.

Right- keep it to carb. and electolyte replacement while doing your cardio. if the activity is > an hour- otherwise just water is fine. There are new sport drinks with protein in them- but trying to consume your whey protein while running will most likely run you to the bathroom. The stuff is rough on your gut while doing any edurance events.
Quick aside- check first ingredient on your protein jug.
Go for whey isolate, not whey concentrate- bioavailability of the protein is greater as an isolate.
