I went through the Marines boot camp and heres what i would advise you to do. Run, climb a rope , Run, push-ups, run, chin-ups, run, gut busters, run, and get ready for some head games. O did i mention you need to run. Good luck.

All of the above plus running. Buy you some good heavy boots and run in them. Find some sand and run in it. Good Luck. You can do it......or else!

I am training for Navy boot camp myself right now. Run like the wind and we have a requirement for push ups and sit ups. I am doing alot of cardio and upper body strength training. My numbers are growing so I must be doing something right.:)

I went through Navy boot camp many years ago. Wasn't too bad at all. I then went to Aircrewman Candidate School. A little bit tougher but if you don't mind swimming and running it wasn't bad either. The physical body can adapt to most any regimen. Most people wash out of boot camp (be it Navy, Marine, Army, Air Force)because they can't handle the mental demands.

As a former (staff puke right now) training company
commander I can tell you precisely what you need to do. I
like the USMC program better than ours but that's life. You will be evaluated on your ability to do three events. The
push up, sit-up, and two mile run. DO a google search for present performance standards for your age and gender. Keyword 'Army APFT.' For the PU's and SU's all you need do is a few sets a day. Go for a good burn for say three sets of each. You should run 3x per week. Get some good running shoes. One run at a moderate pace for say 3 miles. On the 2nd day (make sure ya skip a day) do a 2 miler at a pace which gets the heart and lungs going. Be sure to pace yourself. On the 3rd go around you need to do some speed drills. Best to find a track and run say 3 440's at about a 3/4 pace, with a shuffle pace lap between each sprint, then do 220's, with 220 shuffles in between, then 100 meter. Good luck

Im currently in the Air Force Active Duty stationed in Kadena Air Base, Okinawa,Japan, with all the branches of service especially USMC (6 Camps)! I'm a Security Forces member, we train with the USMC, so we are expected to with hold the same fitness standards as them. All I have to say about your situation is RUN, RUN, & RUN!! And when you think you are starting to feel the burn, thats when you should run even harder. The biggest part of Basic Training isnt pushups or situps, its acutally the run! Eat a balance meal so you have energy to get through the day. Try to get up around 4:00 A.M. get a bannana in your stomach and out the door you go. RUN(Not jog) about 4 miles. Do Pushups, and Situps. You'll be just fine...Oh and dont foget to stretch, its a big key in preventing injurying. ~hope this helps you out~

They sure do....as a matter of fact the 3 star general on Foster made it so that they have a curfew at 12:00 and all marines can't get into any of the clubs, including both enlisted clubs...kinda sad
