Hi everyone!
Just wondering if anyone could fill me in on the specifics about laxatives and weight loss. The reason I ask is in a recent magazine article, it noted that one of the favourite forms of extreme weight loss was the use of laxatives. Can anyone tell me why this works, and what are the negative effects of prolonged use?

Jule, I hope you're not planning on trying this?
It doesn't work, it just dehydrates the body, so the numbers on the scale may go down temporarily. Laxative abuse can cause any problems associated w/ chronic diarrhea, dehydration, irritable bowels, also dependence on laxatives, and infections of the large intestine.

The negative effects are that you'll loose everything AND your body need something to get to anything........ :)
Seriously, remember how you feel after having a bad diarrhea; you feel very weak and NOT good at all....

Not only that but, if you use them long enough you'll have problems going to the bathroom without them and if you continue further you'll have to get a colonic done regularly. Getting a colonic isn't fun or pretty. It's best to lose weight the natural way...good and clean. Cheating your way to a thinner body has it's consequence besides the results are only temporary.

laxatives lose your weight in body fluids, excrement, muscle loss, stomach upsets and the inability process foods properly.
You will lose muscle, fitness, looks, stamina, temper, sympathy, empathy, friends, family, values in life!
YOU WILL GAIN FAT, ILLNESS, STOMACH PROBLEMS, A POOR IMMUNE SYSTEM, HUMILIATION, DEPPRESSION, DEATH
