Hi! Been following your exercise program and was wondering why the reps in some exercises are structured so that you start with a high count of 20 or 16 then down to 12, 10, 8 for succeeding sets? Is the first set meant as a warm-up? If so, should the weights used for that first set be substantially less (about 50%) than those you use in the lower rep sets?

Yes, the first set is for a warm up then increase the weight as you get into the lower reps.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
