What is the best way to spilt the body parts? My friend and I have two different theroys on this one, and they both seem to work, but I would like to know from some of you guys out there what is the best body part split to do. Thanks for ya help fellas!:dumbbell:

And could someone explain the "push and pull" thing to me. I ain't retarded or nothing, just curious.

I don't know if there is a "best" Split. I think you should change it up every 8 weeks or so, and changing your Split can be a good way to change things up.

I believe the Push - pull is reffering to the type of exercise's you do with certain muscles. Ex.

Chest and Bi's would be a Push - Pull
Back and Tri's -- Pull - Push
Chest and Tri's -- Push - Push
Back and Bi's -- Pull - Pull


Try cylcing through these every 6-8 weeks, and see what you like, and what works for you.

Push excercises are grouped cause these movements "push" weight away from you ex. bench press, military, any m,ovements that make weight go "away fron your body" are push. split is usually chest, tris, shoulders

Pull excercises pull weight toward you, rows,curls note: when I was in high school we did legs on this day as well, they are both push and pull.

and we alternated these work outs for a 4 day split:
cleans chest,shoulders triceps
deadlifts back, legs , biceps
rest
bench press chest, tris shouler
squats legs, back, biceps

Later working out on my own I changed it to a 3 day spilt that seperated them more:

cleans I did back and shoulders( mainly what was worked when you do cleans)
leg day: squats, biceps
chest day: chest, triceps
and I picked a random day to do abbs or whatever.

Now i'm on a 3 day workout doing
chest/ back
legs
shoulders, tris, bi's
