Push excercises are grouped cause these movements "push" weight away from you ex. bench press, military, any m,ovements that make weight go "away fron your body" are push. split is usually chest, tris, shoulders
Pull excercises pull weight toward you, rows,curls note: when I was in high school we did legs on this day as well, they are both push and pull.
and we alternated these work outs for a 4 day split:
cleans chest,shoulders triceps
deadlifts back, legs , biceps
rest
bench press chest, tris shouler
squats legs, back, biceps
Later working out on my own I changed it to a 3 day spilt that seperated them more:
cleans I did back and shoulders( mainly what was worked when you do cleans)
leg day: squats, biceps
chest day: chest, triceps
and I picked a random day to do abbs or whatever.
Now i'm on a 3 day workout doing
chest/ back
legs
shoulders, tris, bi's
