I know that form and technique are important. I am only one week into the 8 wk program and am wondering if it is more important at this point to increase the weight quickly or concentrate on maintaing a safe wight and getting in the reps recommended in my exercise program?

Hi Mike, I guess it kind of depends on what results you are looking for. If you want to tone and gain strength, look to lower weights and higher reps. If you want to gain size, higher weights and lower reps. You should ideally either just barely squeeze out that last rep on the last set, or fail trying. In both cases, form is essential. Good luck - seven weeks to go, only 49 days! And hey, what's 49 days compared to your life so far?

also depends on hwo long you been lifting, if this is your first "real" workout I would suggest staying with your weights, your body needs to adapt and get used to the motion or the reps etc. On the other hand if yoru doing your 10 rep 15 times, then it wouldn't hurt to raise the weights 5lbs or so, don't raise it no more than what you can do safly and not subtract good form.
