Lately I've been dieting and keeping what I eat has healthy as possible, simply to become healthier to lose unwanted fat. I lost 7lbs fairly easily and quickly, however, I seem to be stuck at 140lbs. Why is this? And does anyone know how I can get unstuck (I need to lose aprox 5-10 more lbs of fat).

You've probably hit a plateau. Our bodies are very efficient so you'll have to change things up periodically. This includes your diet and workout routine.

First off, How long have you been Stuck? When you First start working out, you will loose about 7-10 lbs quite quickly. Alot of that is contributed to excess water weight. If you have only been stuck for say 2-3 weeks, don't fret too much, give it some time. After the First initial weight loss, you can expect aprox 2-3 lbs a week.

Now if its been longer, then you might want to look at your Diet and workout routine abit closer. For weight loss the most important part would be your Diet, Look at the total amount of calories, and how much Fat might be in the foods you eat, as well as the Ratio of Carbs and Protien. Keeping a Journal is a good idea to find out Exactly what you are eating, it can sometimes be alot different than what you thought you where eating, when you look back. Also how much Cardio do you do, how often, and when is it being done? How Often are you working out, and what is your Weight routine like? Like rpacheco said, you need to switch things up every once and awhile, generally every 6-8 weeks switch up your program. And its good to Incorporate more than one Cardio exercise into your Cardio workouts as well, for example hit the Treadmill Monday, Eliptical Machine Tuesday, and Thursdays hit the Bike. It will help your body not to adjust to always doing the same workouts.

I do aprox. 1 hour of cardio a day during the school year. On the summer break, I do 13 hours of cardio and strengh training a day (I do martial arts, which is basically that). The cardio consists of running, jumping, jumping jacks etc at a fast pace. The strengh training which is mixed in with the cardio normally consists of push ups and sit ups in various ways. I also stretch for about 20 minutes a day. I don't tend to do much weight lifting, however I wouldn't mind starting, simply because martial arts only really builds small, dense, and lean muscles, and I wouldn't mind putting alittle bit more size on me. I normally rest muscles every other day, meaning if I do upper body monday, then I'll do it again wednesday. I alternate between lower and upper body. My diet? My diet pretty much consists of tuna, ham, chicken, turkey, various dairy products (milk, yogart, cheese etc) and whole grain wheat. I tend to eat oatmeal with brown sugar in the morning along with a cup of peppermint tea and an apple for breakfast. Lunch and dinner vary from day to day. I also try to eat 6 small meals per day, at 3 hour intervals.

If you need any more info, just ask.

I am just noticing the 4'9'' comment about being extremely fat or extremely muscular. I am 4'9'' and am neither and even at my heaviest at 135 i still looked pretty much as i do not at 117. Its all in bone structure. Anyways good luck losing your 5-10. I hit my plateau and i was frusterated i cut down my cardio from 6 days a week to 3 and that helped me.
best of luck

I do martial arts, which like I said, is basically heavy cardio and strengh training mixed together. On my days off of school, I do 13s of that per DAY. During the school year, I do about 1-2 hours of cardio/strengh training a day. During the summer, I do my 13 hours a day routine again. It's not impossible, you just have to be totually driven to achieve your goal. I have so much motivation that it's pouring out of my arse, unfortunitly my reasons for being motivated aren't probably something people would consider good. Basically I'm motivated by negative things that have happened in my life and that influenced to push myself to that extent.
