Nice website everyone! My diet of about 2000-2250 calories a day seems to have worked out well to help me lose about 50 lbs in the last 5 months or so. I was doing 30-45 min of cardio a day in the beginning with 1 day of rest in a week. I started lifting about a month and a half ago alternating cardio with a full body workout every other day. I'm down to about 173 lbs where I've been for a couple of weeks now though I know I am now trading fat for muscle which is great. My problem is that lately I'm starting to experience some pretty noticeable fatigue/irritability throughout the day and am having some problems with sleep at night. When I eat, I definately notice a boost in energy and a change for the better in my mood with a downward slope again untill my next meal. I eat 3 meals a day averaging about 550-600 calories with a few of snacks in between. I get about 100-125 grams of protien a day, 350-400 grams of carbs, and 10-20 grams of fat. I have a large frame and am moderately active not including my cardio and weight-lifting. I feel like my diet/exercise strategy is getting a little outdated for my weight now that my fat reserves have just about gone dry! These peaks and lows in my energy/mood throughout the day are starting to have a negative effect on my work performance and I would like to figure this out in a healthy way. I want to start focusing more on bodybuilding now and less on weight loss. I know I've all but answered my own question, but I was just looking for some constructive input. I appreciate any and all replies THANKS!!
Yes, your metabolism has increased and your body now requires you to feed it more often. Instead of 3 meals with snacks in between, you should adopt a 5-6 meals per day strategy. This will definitely help you.
