well, that would depend on what your goals are... you could start out by filling out your profile so that we'd be able to further help you out... of course, since you're on this site, i'd assume you intend on either losing some weight and/or toning your body up... either way, you'll need to find a diet of some sort that satisfies your needs...
in the mean time, though, you could check this out:
http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=3&t_ix=1404
while i'm not too sure if you actually want to become a bodybuilder or not, that list should give you a general idea of what your diet would basically consist of, whether you want huge bicepts or not...

well, sure... it's not like it's a poison or anything... the point is, though, that you need a diet plan to begin with... once that's done, it's just a matter of fitting the ranch dressing in it... good luck!

The best start would be to (as Pimple said) is to fill out your profile and set up your nutrition plan. This will give you some guidelines.

Ok, the first thing you need to do is to set your maintenance calories. This is imparative to any nutritional plan working. The best way to go about this is to write down(journal) everything you put in your mouth for 3-5 days. Average this out. At the end of that time, with your normal daily activities, weigh yourself. If you have stayed the same, no gain, no loss, you most probably are very close to your maintenance level of calories. Now you have a place to start. Most probably you will see on your list an eye opening array of foods you can drop. First thing is to "clean" up your diet, substitute sugary, high calorie processed foods with healthy whole grains, fibrous carbs, and lean proteins. Doing just this you should start to see a big change. Then after things level off, start a caloric deficit scheme, like reducing your calories by 250 a day, when weight loss stops, you will have to do another adjustment. Remember, the calorie deficit can come from exercise also, or a combination thereof. This is the best way, can't keep cutting food forever. Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck to you.
