Firstly happy new year.
My first question is: Are there any exercices (whether it be weights or cardio) that when done wrong can restrict growth(height) especially something like standing barbell curls.
My second question is: I heard that keeping your heart rate very high(maximum and above)during cardio can actually be very bad for you, is that true? And also what would be the typical number of miles that a average (not obese but also not a track star) teenager should run for cardiovascular health and toning because I am afraid of losing muscle.
Thanks, any help appreciated.

Well rascal, after asking my father (which is a part time physical trainer) about your first question.. he said it wouldn't stunt your growth, but if you do it wrong for a long time, you'll have back problems. he said you would strain your back. About your second question, I am a teenager and I'm not a track star, but I run a good bit and I have never lost any muscle running. I've tonned my legs and lower abs and actually built muscle on my thighs. So don't worry about losing muscle.
