Hi everyone. Here's my question. Should I be doing flat bench press first then inclined and other chest workout or does it really matter. Second question. Instead of using barbells can I use dumbells for my chest routines. Thanks for the help.

The order of the exercise should not matter when it comes to bench press. However, I would normally warm up with flyes to pre-exhaust the triceps, and end up with them as a cool down since they help stretch pecs.
As far as dumbbells vs. barbells, I would suggest using both as you'll find that you can't go too heavy with dumbbells.

Robert - nice tip about warming up w/flyes. I'll have to try that one.

Thanks rpacheco. It just seems that when ever I start out with something other than the flat bench I'm burned out and can barely do two sets. Maybe it will just take time. Thanks again

Yoda may have been mistaken, sometimes you have to try until you can!!!

That's right, Charlie. Maybe you should decrease your weight. As time goes by, you will get stronger.

rpacheco......flys have nothing to do with triceps.....how do u pre exhaust them with flys, well atleast my flys don't use triceps?...........but anyways you shopuld incorperate both dumbells and barbells, barbells help add to strength and power, but dumbells give u a differnt full because the bar is not in the way, the bar actually stops u from getting a full stretch of the pec muscle there by not using al of the potential muscle fiber that is possible. The rule is the more muscle fibers u can engage in the lift the more u can left, so bascily the more u damage( not in a bad way) the more that have to be bad stonger........ergo bigger chest, bigger muscles more strength......... now depending on what u want or traing for will depend on how much of what u want to use. i perosnally do 5 sets on bench, then do cable cross overs....then incline babrbell presses, decline bench press/ or dips head down, then incline flys.........if ur upper chest is weak , u will lose control of the bar in regular bench, so train both equally.... hope this helps
