I quit over a year ago. I really did want to kill someone. Especially my hb since he quit w/ me and then started smoking again. LOL But I did see an increase in my endurance really quickly. I think I was already as cardio-fit as I could be as a smoker (over a pack a day). As soon as I quit I got almost high off the oxygen whenever I did cardio! JS, don't worry about the treadmill; it will happen, just try to increase a little at a time. Congrats and keep it up everybody!
Wish I'd known about Charlie's hypnotist before I went through months of complete and utter &$*#&. :)

Hi all...still not smoking?
Man have I had a tough time, beetling around Africa from So Afr to Kenya, tripping around in light aircraft, getting lost in clouds around Kilimanjaro and many more terrrrrrific adventures AND I haven't had a smoke since 16th November 03.......Yeeeee Ha!
95 days and sucking.....who's counting anyway?

I am new here and have been checking everything out. Be very proud of yourself..I decided to quit (again) 4 days ago. Please believe that it is important to quit and nothing is worth what your life could be like later. My mother past away a year ago from lung cancer (age 46). It only took 11 months for it to kill a healthy strong woman. I just found out my father(50) is terminal with emphysema. My father is unable to do go for a walk and yet he still sits there and smokes. Good luck to anyone who quits..because these things can happen, even when you least expect it. My goals in life are to lose weight (caused partly by stress) and to completely quit smoking.

Welcome to our community amandamae, and as all of us here, very sorry about your loss. Congratulations on your will and desire to kick a terrible addiction. You will do it, you have plenty of incentive, and we will be happy here on these boards to keep your motivation(as if you needed it) going in the right direction. Again, congrats and welcome to FT.
