Here's My story: I quit my last job two months ago to take some time off for myself, in the last two months I have been faithfully going to the gym min 5 days a week max 6. I've taken up boxing and SWIMMING. I find that everytime I head the pool, being a novice and all I get that sore throat feeling from drinking too much chlorine. I swam this last Sunday, then woke up Monday with a sore throat, it has continually gotten worse until last night I almost lost my voice and the congestion followed. My Question is, I have been very well rested these last few months- minus one wild halloween party - did I over do it with excersing too often? or could I have possibly contracted a cold/flu from drinking too much pool water?

NO, pool water has CHLORINE(kills most virus' and bacteria)...majority of flu/cold virus are indirect contact with a carrier passed thru nasal cavity...as in touching a doorknob, then rubbing face, or being near a sneezer..this seem almost unreasonable..i figure something else is causing your malaise'.

You can pick up a virus virtually anywhere except in the presence of chlorine. Germs-them buggers are EVERYWHERE! Try being a schoolteacher during cold and flu season. Thank God for Vitamin 'C'. Oh, hope you get to feeling better.
