Hey all, its my first post and I was hoping for a little help from all the skilled veterans :-)

I was wondering what muscles were the best to work out together in order to avoid exhausting yourself before moving to the next group. For example, if I do 3 bicep exercises and then move to my tris, they are obviously a bit tired and I think this will probably force me to be working out with less weight than I should.

I have roughly 5 days a week to work out and I am open to the best combination, but want to make each day is beneficial. In terms of my focus, I am really in more of a toning phase combined with adding a bit of size to arms, chest, and shoulders.

Thanks in advance.

Try one of the exercise programs offered by ft. They are well designed for just the reason that you mentioned. Many on this site can testify to their efficiency and results.

People have differing views as to what are "good" combinations. Here's what I have done:

- Biceps
- Triceps/Chest
- Back/Shoulders
- Legs

and

- Biceps/Back
- Triceps/Chest
- Shoulders
- Legs

Remember to work larger muscles first to prevent from exhausting yourself.
