Hello, I am so glad that I found this board. I have been searching high and low for information for women who are just beginning strength training while trying to lose weight. I am not new to exercising, but I have a new desire to want to lose weight and tone up. I am a female, weighing 200 lbs, standing at 5ft4. I am currently wearing a size 18. I've lost weight in the past, but I didnt really focus on toning up.

My overall goal is to fit back into a size 12 to 14. This time, I want to be fit and toned, not just smaller. I am looking for any advice, including the following:

- proper nutrition
- amount of calories that I should intake per day...per meal
- amount of meals per day
- how to properly incorporate protein shakes/meal replacements into daily meals (I currently have MetRx Ultimate Protein. It has 46g per serving, 210 cal per serving. A serving consists of 3 scoops of powder, which can be added to 8 to 12 ounces of milk or water.)
- should these be taken after working out
-amount of protein per meal
- pre or post workout meals
- how to achieve effective weight loss

I am currently walking, doing aerobics tapes, and using free weights.

Any advice and/or tips that you can give this novice would be appreciated.

I answered your other post on most of these things.
