Hi there I'm pretty new here and have recently started working out again after being off for about 2 years. I'm 5'11 and about 174lbs. I've been working out for a little over a month and have been doing heavy lifting for the first time ever really, usually reps of 8-6-4, i have seen strength and size improvements but have not put a pound on and have noticed that i'm not any bigger than 2 weeks ago. I take creatine after every workout as the directions state and workout out about 3-days a week working one muscle group a week, I eat lots of tuna and try and take in as much protein as possible. After some research i just ordered ATP VP2 whey protein and L-Glutamine pills which should be here this week i plan on drinking the protein shakes after workouts in conjunction with the creatine. Just wondering if I am on the right path and should just wait and the results will come or am i doing it all wrong. I want to put on some serious muscle mass i'd like to see 40lbs. by summer but not sure if that is logical anymore. I'm 19 and live at college so eating good and constantly is a bit difficult. Thanks

Good luck with the weight gains. Diet is key also do some research on timing of meals 40lbs is alot of weight to put on in such a short time good luck keep hitting the weights hard and try to vary sets and reps from time to time to keep muscles growing

When I mentioned changing reps and sets try using a variety of combinations. For example (high reps 15,12,10,8 with a moderate weight or perhaps low reps 4-8 with a heavy weight) Whatever you choose to do try to keep changing things up every 6-16 weeks or as needed. The goal is to keep the body from becoming adapted to a routine. Good luck

Hi,

I'm just getting back into a routine too.

You think you're small. I'm 5'10 at 140 lbs.

I've got a long way to go.

I was barely 179 pounds at my peak 2 years ago before I broke my collar bone. Don't let anyone tell you that a break like that would lay you up for a while.

Anyway, I'm determined to get back in shape, eating alot more of the proper foods, high protein, carbs, etc.
