I'm pretty excited to get back into running more seriously after taking oh...a year or so off. For the next month it'll be all I do as I train for a weekend long relay (got asked last minute to fill in on a team), but then I hope to balance running w/weight training.

Anyway...I was really nervous about getting back into running b/c I thought I'd be really slow - and I'm not (well, not for me)! I'm having fun with it again and looking forward to tackling some hills this weekend.

Anyone else run into this situation with activities you used to do? Or - if you're thinking about picking up that old bike, old rollerblades, running shoes, tennis racket, etc...try it!

Good luck Kirby. It will come back.
I remember when I put my skates on for the first time in about 20 yrs, I didn't forget how to skate but the feeling in the legs was sure weird. Eventually I was back into it.
You will do well, I'm sure.

Good to hear that you recovered quickly, RW :)

I'll let you guys know how it goes...I have a feeling I'm going to be in dire need of a hot tub very soon.

hey all -
well, the relay was this weekend. i ran my three legs around 8 min/miles, including the one that had some killer hills...all while battling a pretty nasty head cold (arg.). pretty decent time for me & i had fun.

anyway, now i'm looking forward to getting some time in at the gym & rebalancing my schedule. course, getting gym time in when the CUBS are playing game 6...ah, we'll see.
